Grass Valley is about 3 miles away and Nevada City is about 7. Both have beautifully preserved Victorian downtowns that are worth a wander.
Holiday traditions in downtown Grass Valley
Grass Valley knows how to do the holidays. Two annual favorites are a short drive from the resort.
Community Tree Lighting. The official kickoff to the season. Expect live music from the Cornish Carol Choir, festive treats, and a visit from Santa just before the tree lights up.
Cornish Christmas. On Friday nights from late November through mid-December, downtown turns into a Victorian-era winter marketplace. Strollers and vendors dress in period costume. There are roasted chestnuts, hot cider, street musicians, and Santa too. A free shuttle helps with parking.
