Event Details Wild & Scenic Film Festival (WSFF) is a production of the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, a 501c3 + 1% for the Planet partner) and one of the largest environmental film festivals in the country — drawing more than 7,000 attendees, filmmakers, activists, outdoor athletes, students and artists to the Sierra Nevada foothills for five days of film, celebration, and inspiration. In 2025, the 23rd annual festival will be held President’s Day weekend, February 13-17, in Grass Valley and Nevada City, CA and online February 17-23.
One of the nation’s largest environmental and adventure film festivals, Wild & Scenic Film Festival combines stellar filmmaking, cinematography, and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire, and ignite solutions to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for generations to come. Festival-goers are treated to a wide variety of award-winning films, including those about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy, wildlife, and environmental justice. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is hosted and produced by South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL). The flagship festival kicks off a nationwide tour bringing Wild & Scenic films to more than 30,000 people annually.
